Wokingham Borough Connect - Give your views

Updated: 2 days ago

Electric vehicle charging strategy

We are developing an Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Strategy for the borough, making sure that we continue to provide charging points where people need them, and want to hear your views.

Why should you take part

We want to make sure that the network of charging points we are building meets the needs of you, the people that need them. In just over a decade the sale of new petrol and diesel cars will be banned and we want to make sure the infrastructure is in place as people make the switch.

Taking the survey

The consultation is open until 27 October and further information about the new strategy along with your opportunity to take the survey, is on our Engage Wokingham Borough website.

Help your town / village centres thrive

Don’t miss your chance to comment on how Twyford, Wokingham and Woodley town/village centres are being used and how they perform as places to do business.

Why you should take part

Feedback from the survey will help shape the new Town Centre Strategy, which we are working on to support these town/village centres to grow and thrive.

The strategy will also form an integral part of our wider work to drive the economic growth of the borough.

Taking the survey

The survey and further information is available on our Engage Wokingham Borough website and closes 4 October. There are two versions, one for residents and the other for business owners.

Economic development strategy

Economic development is key to a quality, stable and healthy life for everyone. We are updating our Economic Development Strategy and want to get your views on whether we are prioritising the right areas.

Why you should take part

The strategy sets out how we will keep improving the borough’s economic prosperity through to 2030. Residents will benefit from new employment, upskilling and training opportunities created from sustainable growth in our economy.

The town centre strategy above will sit alongside the economic development strategy.

Taking the survey

The survey and further information is available on our Engage Wokingham Borough website and closes 8 October.

Youth future focus

Do you have any 11 to 18 year olds in your life? We want to hear from them about their life in the borough, including wellbeing safety, leisure, support networks and worries and concerns.

Why should you take part

This survey, jointly developed by us, Berkshire Youth and the Children and Young People’s Partnership, is an opportunity for young people to share their views on what is important to them, so we can understand the world through their eyes and make changes, where possible, to improve it.

How to take part

The survey is open to those aged 11 to 18 until 25 October. If you have any questions or need an easy-read version, please email YouthVoice@wokingham.gov.uk.

Moving communities

We are looking for your feedback about the exercise opportunities available to you, in order to help make improvements across the borough.

Why should you take part

In partnership with Sport England, we are running a short survey that will help us to understand your views about physical activity, including what challenges you face in getting moving and staying active.

How to take part

The survey is open until Monday 21 October to share your thoughts.
