ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 WOKINGHAM BOROUGH COUNCIL (SAWPIT ROAD AND SAWPIT LANE, HURST) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY given that Wokingham Borough Council as Traffic Authority proposes to make an Order under Section 14 (1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along: 1. Sawpit Road, Hurst between its junctions with Barber Close and Sawpit Lane. The alternative route for all vehicles affected by this restriction shall be via B3030 Lodge Road, Church Hill, School Road and Sawpit Lane or by this route in reverse. 2. Sawpit Lane, Hurst between its junctions with Sawpit Road and Martineau Lane. The alternative route for all vehicles affected by this restriction shall be via Sawpit Road, B3030 Lodge Road, Church Hill and School Road or by this route in reverse. Works requiring this restriction will take place between 2nd and 5th December 2024. The reason for these prohibitions is to allow CityFibre contractors to undertake fibreoptic installation and associated works in safety. Access for residents and businesses within the boundaries of these restrictions will be maintained at all times. The restriction imposed by the Order shall only apply during those periods when traffic signs complying with the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016 are lawfully displayed. The restrictions contained in the Order shall come into operation on the 2nd December 2024 and shall continue in force for a period not exceeding 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
